Sustainability in Businesses

The aim of the course is to introduce the concept of sustainability to students. Issues and questions of sustainable consumption and life are important not only for so-called “green” consumers but for all people around the world. The financial crisis and social and environmental problems are increasing the sense of responsibility of consumers and together changing the economic and business environment. Customers use their money to buy more goods with value beyond the financial value, and this is helping sustainable business to grow. On the one hand, applying the principles of the sustainability concept into the business can improve companies’ performance and their competitive advantage. On the other hand, thanks to the use of the sustainability concept, our planetary resources can be saved for the following generations.
