Master’s Degree Study Programme

Terms for the academic year 2019/2020

The characteristics of the study field and graduate employment opportunities

The study of a master’s degree programme expands knowledge of management, economics and related disciplines obtained in the bachelor’s degree programme and in comparison is characterized by a higher degree of scientific research. Students are preparing for top management positions in organizations or expert advisory services in the profit and non-profit sector.

Studies place greater demands on the ability to coordinate the activities of the more complex management of subjects and conceptual and strategic thinking. The feedback the faculty has received indicates that graduates are able to find excellent job positions in the labour market.

Foreign school graduates must document their qualification in accordance with Act No. 111/1998 Coll. – a certificate of recognition of foreign studies and degrees. Due to the set date of the entrance exam, it can also be taken by applicants who have not yet completed their bachelor’s studies. A further condition for admission to study the follow-up master’s degree programme is the successful completion of the entrance exam, which consists of the following parts (in the form of written tests rated with the same maximum number of points):

b) Admission without taking the entrance exam

The conditions for the waiver of the entrance exam are determined by the Dean on the basis of the faculty’s capacity for the respective academic year by a separate Dean’s Directive.

II. Assessment of the entrance exam and decision on admission

The result of the entrance examination for both types of study programmes will be processed separately for each of the offered forms of study. Point thresholds may differ for different forms of study.

Admission of the student is decided based on the order of successful candidates compiled on the basis of the total point gain from the entrance exam; the results of both parts are summed up and the sub-thresholds are not set. Considering this compiled order, the number of applicants accepted will reflect the capacity of the faculty and the quotas of the University of Economics in Prague. In the event that admitted students will not take up their right to enrol in studies ((§ 51 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll.), other applicants who have submitted a request for a review of the decision due to full capacity reasons may be considered for admission instead.
