Revitalisation and building modifications at FM VŠE

Introductory press release

In 2010, the Faculty of Management of the Prague University of Economics and Business in Jindřichův Hradec applied 2010 for a subsidy from the RDI Operational Programme for the implementation of the project entitled Revitalisation and Building Modifications at FM UE. The Ministry of Education approved the decision on the allocation of the subsidy on 30th June 2011. The total costs of the project amount to 73 748 404.78 CZK of which eligible expenses amount to 50 million CZK, of which 85% is financed from EU funds and 15% from the state budget.

The aim of the project, registration number CZ.1.05/4.1.00/04.0191, is to improve the quality of infrastructure for education related to research, development and innovation activities. The sub-objectives of the project are (i) the provision of modern infrastructure for science and research conducted by students of master’s and doctorate degrees, (ii) to provide the necessary infrastructure for holding doctorate and scientific conferences, workshops and roundtables, and (iii) to create a suitable environment for the involvement of graduates in research and especially grant projects, programmes and other scientific and research activities.

Within the framework of the project, the classrooms and lecture halls used for lectures with a direct impact on research and development activities will be rebuilt and revitalised while new conference rooms will be created. This will: (i) improve the quality of the educational infrastructure, new facilities for the organisation of conferences, workshops and roundtables will be created; (ii) improve the quality of the other areas (entrance halls, social facilities, common areas / corridors); (iii) new cabinets for doctoral students, visiting professors and other faculty researchers will be created in the reconstructed rooms.

The construction of the project entitled “Revitalisation and building modifications at the FM of UE” began on 15th April 2013.

Final press release

The Faculty of Management of the Prague University of Economics and Business in Jindřichův Hradec completed the project entitled Revitalisation and Building Modifications at FM VŠE funded from the OP R&DI, where the primary objective was to improve the quality of infrastructure for education related to research and development and innovation activities.

The sub-objectives of the project were the provision of modern infrastructure for science and research conducted by students of master’s and doctorate degrees as well as the necessary infrastructure for holding doctorate and scientific conferences, workshops and roundtables, and the creation of a suitable environment for the involvement of graduates in research, especially in grant projects, programmes and other scientific and research activities.

The framework of the implemented project in the years 2011-2014 included the modification and revitalisation of classrooms, a lecture hall used for lectures that has a direct impact on R&D activities while the new “Dvorana” pavilion was created by adding a roof over the area between the pavilions. The general contractor of the building was Hochtief CZ a.s. The construction work was completed in the fourth quarter of last year, followed by the refurbishing of the renovated and revitalised classrooms and offices. The whole project was completed on 30.4.2014.
